What We Offer

Sunday Morning

Worship is at the heart of the Christian life. Worship is the beginning and ending of our life together at St. John’s, the place where we meet God and are strengthened to do our ministry. We gather every Sunday morning to worship together, to hear God’s Word, to share the Sacraments, to pray, to have fellowship and to think together about the meaning of God’s Word for our daily lives. Worship is at 8:30am and 10:45am (summer worship is at 8:30am and 10:00am) Daily prayer is a part of our members’ lives and we also offer weekly opportunities for daily prayer (except during certain seasons such as Lent and Advent when other special services occur): Morning Prayer each Tuesday morning at 8:10am and Compline (Night Prayer) each Wednesday of the school year at 8:10pm.

Holy Communion, the gift of Jesus’ presence, forgiveness and grace, is celebrated every Sunday and on major festivals. A variety of liturgies is used on a regular schedule.

Between services, from 9:45am until 10:30am, people are invited to participate in Sunday School classes for all grades from preschool to high school, St. John’s Forum or St. John’s Gathering (our two adult education opportunities), or to come to the Commons for fellowship and refreshments.

Ministry beyond Sunday Morning

As this website continues to develop, look for descriptions of the many opportunities for people at St. John’s to grow in faith, experience God’s renewing and redeeming grace and deepen their ties with fellow believers. Ministry to children, youth and adults is varied and expansive at St. John’s and we hope to provide good introductions to that ministry at this website in the future.
